Wildhorse Creek Road

I found my escape. The same road that I drove on a couple of weeks ago when I needed to get away. I drove on that road this morning. Breath taking. Missouri is full of hills and beautiful barns, stables and homes out in the countryside. Surrounding this road are thick, green trees that create a dome of protection over the road, acting like fingers interlaced. Little patches of sun shine through and it smells glorious! White fences line the property's, along with gorgeous brick homes and huge red barns.

Today was the day to be on that road. There were so many cyclists and even a cute couple riding horseback. As I drive I caught a glimpse of horses running in a field. Beautiful. Creation reminds me of God's love for us. He knows how awe some He is, creation is for our marvel. The colors were so vivid. Bright green grass, apple red barns, bright blue sky and the now-and-again black, brown, and white horses. I wish you could see! Maybe I will bring my camera with me on a drive.

Its my drive I take with Jesus. Sounds like a corny Christian movie title but I don't care how it sounds, its the truth. It's when Him and I can talk. I always come back feeling rejuvenated, refreshed and joyful. Its when I feel most at home, and where I belong. I have never really longed to be at home before this point in my life. I'm not scared of death, I know what lies ahead of me. A place where sin won't be first nature, and loving God with all of who I am won't feel like swimming up stream. I long for the day that I get to go home and I'm finally not scared to face it.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life."
{Psalm 139:23-24}
