Library

The Union Theological Library reeks of old books and filled with huge windows dressed with gold and navy blue paisley drapes. Thick wooden tables and chairs, the room opens up to a huge dome complete with intricate crown molding details. Modest in size, the library has large marble pillars and lots of painted portraits of old men. Sitting in this library with a laptop at hand almost seems like I'm defying the laws of library etiquette or something.

Poverty and the Church today: God's deep concern for the poor and the Church's response. It's what I'm researching about. A pressing issue that our world faces today and the increasing cry for help. There are a lot of organizations today stepping up to the challenge of tackling a world wide phenomenon such as hunger, but its not enough. God speaks clearly about how we (the church) are to address poverty and social justice, giving clear instructions on how to be His hands and feet.

Anyway, back to the books.
p.s. did I mention that its raining? pitter patter on the window pane. it's the simple things in life that are so beautiful.
